James and Hannah Matthews
James is passionate about following Jesus with joy, Communicating the Bible in practical ways, going on epic adventures with friends, encouraging people to thrive at life, and hiking enough to wear through a pair of Kenetrek boots every year.
Together with his wife, Hannah, they have lots of fun worshiping God with their everyday life - but Hannah is better at singing for sure. They have three awesome (read, “monster”) boys who will someday use their gifts for building others up rather than their current hobby of destroying everything in their path. Apparently James and Hannah only know how to make boys - but they love them and wouldn't change it for the world.
In 2016, James became the Lead Pastor at WayPoint Church in Dillon Montana. There wasn’t much left of the former church they came to lead - only about 10-14 average attenders - and a small building. But God had great plans for that small group of amazing people. Since then WayPoint has gone through many changes (and a few buildings… and one tent) and has grown to over 200 people who call it their church home. James is committed to creating as many opportunities as he can for people to experience Jesus in a life-changing way.
